Scientific rigoUr behind our expertise
in neurostimulation

Researchers at Neurinnov have published technical papers on micro-electronics, software engineering, electrophysiology and function physiology in peer-reviewed scientific journals for over two decades. Here is a selection of the latest:

Scientific Reports – Nature Journal (2022)

This paper describes the technical results obtained with the full device on the first two patients. The full device includes neural electrodes placed on the median and radial nerves, an external stimulator with features similar to the future implant, and simple patient interfaces, namely IMU or EMG. It explains how selectivity is assessed, tuned, obtained, and personalised for both patients.

Journal of Neurotrauma (2022)

This paper details the clinical results obtained with the full device on the first two patients. The full device includes neural electrodes placed on the median and radial nerves, an external stimulator with features similar to the future implant, and simple patient interfaces, namely IMU or EMG. It shows that after three weeks of tuning and training, patients were able to grasp objects, including bottles and forks.

Journal of Neural Engineering (2018)

This paper details the principles of neural selective stimulation with 3D shaping. An in silico study is presented to identify the most relevant 3D shaping currents, followed by a proof of concept applied to vagus nerve stimulation in sheep for treating heart failure. It illustrates how selective stimulation can enhance therapy by increasing its effectiveness while reducing side effects.

Transactions on Neural Systems and rehabilitation Engineering (2016)

This paper describes the performance and primary use of EMG sensors as interfaces for controlling a device (in this case, a robotic arm).

Sensors (2019)

This paper details the performance and primary use of EMG and IMU sensors as interfaces for device control (without a connected device in the study).
